Educational Philosophy

When children play, they explore their world
and practice the skills that will be
fundamental to their future success.  It is my
job to be a guide for children, responding to
their interests and individual needs.  I
encourage open-ended thinking, trusting the
child to find creative ways to solve their
problems.  I provide developmentally
appropriate curriculum and work to respect
the beliefs and home cultures of all of the
children we care for.  I emphasize social skills
such as self-calming, conflict management, and
politeness. Finally, I make learning fun.
Children learn best when
learning is enjoyable.
Mission Statement

To provide individualized
care that helps each child
maximize their personal
potential.

Wendy Arnburg

To supplement my current knowledge of best practices in
childcare, I have earned an Early Childhood Education
Associates of Science at Marshalltown Community College.  I
have previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Behavior
and Human Services from Grand View College.   In addition to
my college education and continuing early childhood education
classes, I have completed 30 hours of training in Foster Care
and Adoptive Parenting.

I make a difference in the lives of children by providing
quality care in a home environment.  I am responsive to
individual needs and provide educational opportunities
to encourage personal growth.  In my free time, I enjoy
reading, gardening, volunteering at the
Ankeny Izaak Walton League and
spending time outdoors with my family.
